Summertime in Paris

The rues are very quiet this time of the year….

We decided to make the most of the long weekend and be tourists and walked to a nearby park – ‘Parc Morceau’ – and wandered through the grand museum – ‘Invalides’ – where they keep Napoleon’s body.

The only unfortunate thing about being left behind while all the Parisians leave – is that alot of places are closed until the new year – beginning 1 September.

The park was full of Parisians making good use of the space. I would of loved one of those tempting toffee apples sitting on the counter at the kiosk. This is one of the things I like about living here…they make the apples and they just leave them – without a covering – ready for anyone to take. I am so used to everything being wrapped in plastic!

Was a lovely long weekend…ready for work tomorrow…hmmmmm
